Help for friends Tour

Hello to all on the freightliner Group! We have some friends trying to get from fla to Missouri. their coach is running down the road for about ten minutes at a time before he looses all control of throttle and Allison touch pad lights go out. pulls over shuts motor down, restarts and good for another 10 min. he just spent 2 days at macon Freightliner, they just billed him 658.00 dollars and are sending him down the road with nothing fixed. they said they think its an Allison problem! this coach only has 6000 miles on it and its a 2012. any ideas would be great! Thanks!

If he is near Macon, I would get it up to Gaffney, however possible, and let factory service fix it properly.

kent, thanks but not sure he wants to go there after all the problems with macon freightliner. I will mention that when I talk to him first thing in morning. Thanks again!

X2 on having him go to Gaffney; while we haven't been there yet all I hear is PRAISE about the service provided there. It might well be that the freightliner place in Macon didn't really want to work on his MH, a lot of them don't want to touch them.

Maybe someone at Gaffney could call the Macon shop and get a report of what they did . They may be familiar with this and can advise on a solution.

Just got off the phone with my buddy. After everybody cooled off this morning they called and are in contact with them as we speak. they are trying to figure out a solution to the problem. The sad part of this is they are on their way to a family reunion for his daughter that just returned from Afghanistan after Her fourth tour. Sure would hate to see them miss that. Otherwise it just would just be another motorhome day! Thanks!

Well, I guess they have their problem solved. They ended up at Williams Allison in Atlanta. The tech finally did change Allison ecm and all appears to be well. Also after more discussion with Freightliner they decided to refund the earlier charge. Good news! They are rolling again. Thanks again.
