HELP with transmission in SCOTLAND UK

Hi, I have a fleetwood Flair 32ft 1996 6.5 dt ... it has a problem with the autobox and Im wondering if anyone can shed some light on it. It will not shift into 3rd or 4th but the other gears are fine. Any help would be really appreciated as the van is stuck on site.

Thanks

This Fleetwood Flair I believe is a gasser with a 454 Chevy engine. Does it have a Allison transmission or a GM transmission.

Have you warmed it up and checked the transmission fluid level?

Its a 6.5 diesel tahnks for the help, it wasnt my van and I was looking to buy it but have decided against it after carefully checking it over...there was too much corrosion on top of the gearbox problem

Can't help much without knowing what make of transmission it has. From what I've read, the Flair with the 6.5L diesel is on an Oshkosh chassis, but I have no idea what tranny they used. The 6.5L is not hugely powerful, so probably doesn't have one of the big Allisons, and there were no small Allisons like the 1000 and 2000 in 1996.
