How Level for fluid level check
I want to use the dipstick to check fluid level to verify the keypad indication. How level do I have to get the coach? Side to side I can get but fore to aft is a bit down at the nose.

Get a clear container of some sort (a glass, a bowl, whatever) partially fill it with water and put it either on the floor or the kitchen counter.
How far from level is the water in the container?
That's how far from level the oil in the pan is.
Now, is that close enough for you to be comfortable with what the dipstick reads?

I would make sure its level, if you cannot move it now, then wait until you can and make sure its level.
Seems like a waste of time to check it with the rig not level.

Generally speaking, the rig being level is pretty important but perhaps more important is the protocol for how you are doing the fluid level check. Ex: tranny fluid should be checked when tranny is at ops temp and engine is running; hydraulic fluid when engine is off, coolant when engine is at ops temp and running, jack/slide reservoir when jacks are up and slides in, etc. Protocol will vary by brand of rig or component being checked....

Put a bubble level on the floor and level with your jacks. The floor is flat on the frame rails so it'll give you a better reading than a cabinet or range in a movable slide.

That's how I've leveled it for the last 10 yrs!! Problem is that with the air bags up, engine is running to check the fluid level, the jacks don't extend far enough to level fore and aft. I'll just wait till I can move it to a level spot. Not easy in the Ozarks, not too many level spots here!!!

To get better range on your jacks put a series of plywood or 2x10's under the jack pads. If you build up 3" the rig thinks the ground is 3" higher than it really is and you get to raise the rig the extra 3"
