MD3040 information

So I have a 2000 Monaco Windsor with a cummins 330 and Allison MD3040 transmission. Everything seems to be okay for now but if I do have a problem.
Not sure how to check for codes. Any information would be appreciated.

Are you sure about the 3040 because most motor homes of that age have the 3060. That is just the 3000 series with 6 forward speeds. I think at that age Allison had put in the electronic system where you can check the fluid level and check for codes from the shift pad.

With the engine/transmission warm, level and in neutral:
1. Press both up & down arrows simultaneously and release. The display on the shift pad will start a count down starting at 7 or 8. When it finishes it will display: O - L -O - K, for oil level ok. Or O - L - L- 1, for oil level 1 qt low. It can report put to 4-5 low or high.

2. Same start position as above: Press up/down arrows and release as before, then press and release a second time. this will display any codes in tHe display window. You can look up the codes on the Allison site, and exactly how to read them.

Rob, turn on the ignition and check the RED LED Mode light on the Allison shift pad. If it is RED LED is on then there is a code to be checked. If no RED LED on then no code to be checked.
