Relearn strategy

Good evening everyone, I hope all is well. my question has to do with re-learn for shift strategy, a couple weeks ago I had to disconnect the batteries for a repair, it was after that I discovered the shifts seemed slow. After reading the owners manual I discovered that the adaptive strategy had to be relearned much like regular automobiles. I am not comfortable trying to perform the outline due to the amount of traffic that surrounds me here.
My question is that left to its own devices and time "will it reset its own strategy"?
Plus im about to perform the fluid & filter change, will that help or hinder the strategy?

What model transmission?

I have an Allison 1000 transmission and totally disconnect the engine battery several times a year.

I've never noticed any difference in my shifting.
