This coming friday I will have my transmission reprogrammed to only downshift to 4th gear when on the engine brake, has anyone else done this and how happy are you with the results?

Garybtt,

How did the reprogaming work out?

We changed our exhaust brake from a 4th gear downshift that happened around 55mph to a 5th gear downshift when I release the throttle.

Worked great, no more severe down shifting when we come to a stop. I should have had this done a long time ago. This took all of 10 minutes to do as it took the mechanic longer to back my coach in than to do the programming.
