Simple question/simple answer

I have a MD3060 tranny with a pad shifter, can i shift from D to R or R to D without shifting N between ?

I do it all the time. Just make sure you arecat a full stop.

Allison says to shift to neutral first.

On a practical level you won't hurt anything if you're at a stop but it will jerk a bit.

My manual says to always be at a complete stop when shifting gears. It does not mention shifting to N between shifting from D to R or vice versa.

Same here. No mention that I have found in any Allison literature about shifting to N first before going D to R or R to D.
