Towing rv

Can you leave the drive shaft in with engine running in a class A with an Allison 3000 trans a few miles while towing or do need to remove it or the axles?

Engine running , low speed ; Yes .

Had to do that after an air compressor failure , 20,000+ miles ago , no harm done .
