Transmission issue on 2004 Monaco Dynasty

Has anyone had this experience: driving down road at about 35-40 MPH after about an hour and a half drive and the transmission stops working. Everything seems find up to that point and suddenly we can't get into any forward gear. Reverse works and we backed into a safe parking lot with the help of local police. Any suggestions? Allison Transmission. Fluids good. Having it towed today to Stewart and Stevenson in Houston for repair. But, would like to hear whether anyone else has had a similar event.

Sounds like a failure of a forward clutch pack.
Any luck at the shop?

What do you mean the transmission stops working? Does it go to neutral and the vehicle starts to coast?

Do warning lights come on and it locks in range?

There would be a bunch of friction material in the pan (in oil) if the clutches are gone. If the oil and pan is clean, then maybe an electronic or valve body issue.

The Wanderlodge probably had an HT in it. That did have a forward clutch.
The 2004 Dynasty should have a world transmission in it. It uses C1 like a forward clutch in the lower ranges and C2 in the overdrives.
There should be some indication of an issue, like check transmission light, diagnostic codes present, something.
It may be transmission time, it may not. S&S Houston should be able to figure it out.
