Question What's the real scoop??

I'm trying to get all the info I can in prep for switch to synthetic in my 3060 tranny. I called the local Allison shop in Calgary and they have decent price on Transyd. I asked about the hi-cap filters and he confirmed they have them too. He went on to expound on the new filters are really important as they are less efficient? than the old Gold series. He says Allison found peple were not changing their filters often enough and the filters were plugging up and destroying transmissions. Now is he blowing smoke out his kilt, should I stay with Gold series and change more frequently or stay with Allison's regime and recommendations?? Appreciate your knowledgeable help.

Stick with Allison's recommendations. Dealer personnel can come up with very entertaining fictional accounts of how things work. The gold filters are no longer in production.

Unhappy

I think I'll go along with Allison's recommendations. In these times of manufacturer's less than candid statements, fact sometimes strays from truth.

I don't think the Gold filters are even available anymore. Stick with the new Hi Capacity filters from Allison.
