Yes that sounds like a PMD Failure, There are several kits online that will allow you to Move a new one away from the heat where the factory one is, Heat is the Number 1 killer of PMD's and the problem you described point to that

Got the problem fixed. Got a heat seat for the unit and found out the oil pressure sending unit was bad. It Was reading 25-30 psi at idle. The new one reads a steady 35-40. Read the the sending unit sends a signal to the box. Truck runs like a champ now. Thank you everyone for the help.
