I have a 2013 silverado with the cp4 pump that could possibly destroy itself. I am about 145000 miles on truck. Do I need to spend the money replacing it before major problems or is it just a rare problem? Most posts I've read are full of doom and gloom. Does it pose that much of a real problem? Any real experience will be appreciated.

Google AI says this: The GM CP4 fuel pump settlement offers significant relief to thousands of GMC Sierra and Chevy Silverado owners who may have been sold defective vehicles. While not admitting fault, GM has agreed to a substantial $35 million deal to put this matter to rest. Oct 2, 2024.
So I'd say it's a substantial issue worthy of getting ahead of. At least a google search of your VIN which should show any recall for your Silverado. Nothing worse than being on the road stranded.

I've got a 2011 with 170000 miles and also worry about that. One thing I did that might help is installing a FASS lift pump. After the delete this is one of the things I like the best as far as mods.

I also have the FASS fuel pump on my 2012.. I did nothing to my 2003.
Im not saying the CP4 doesn't fail but I know lots of Dmax drivers of pre 2016( I think that's the yr GM added a 2nd fuel pump) and have no knowledge of anyone having an injector pump failure. Are we just lucky or is this a small problem Lawyers turned into a cash cow for the legal pros ?
