duramax block heater cord routing ?

Found my block heater cord. Any advice on how to route it to the front of the truck? 2011 Chevy 3500HD Looks like I might have to remove air filter box and some intake pipeing on the right side. Will it be ok to unplug the sensors on the pipeing till job is done? What do you guys think?

I just routed mine to the left front corner. To use it I just open the hood, connect an extension cord, that close the hood just to the safety latch. That way if you forget, you'll get the "Open Hood" warning lite, so you can disconnect before driving off still connected. I didn't have to remove anything, just a little fishing around to get it where I wanted.

I use a cord reel on my extension cord. I pop the hood and set the cord reel on the top of the air filter box and plug in the block heater. That way the hood is up enough that I see it and remember to unplug.

I copied the mod from the link below - very cool way to do it! I used a good quality, round extension cord to make the cord long enough to reach the bumper trim. Plug the block heater cord into the extension cord, cut the male end off and wire to the marinco plug. Simple to do!

On my D-Max dually I routed it with a small h/d extension to be next to the right headlight.
In warm weather I just tuck it back out of the way.
On my Seneca on a C5500 chassis it is factory mounted at the driver step area.

My 02 block heater cord was taped to another wire loom. I removed the tape and routed the heater plug just in side the right headlamp assy. In cold weather I raise the hood and drape the plug just outside the hood. I also raise the hood to the safety latch position to keep from driving off and jerking the cord out of the block heater.
