Electrical Short

I have an '07 Dually, 3500. I just spent two days trying to trace down an electrical short. Both passinger side power windows and both power seats would not work. Took the seats out - no joy. Took the door panels off - no joy. Finally traced wiring from the under-hood fuse block through the firewall to a relay under the dash on the driver side near the steering wheel. Replaced the relay and no short. Reinstalled the cover over the relay and a wire went "ZAP". There it was. Cover had worn a very small hole in power supply to the relay. Boy, shorts can be hard to find! I had to google to find the 50amp fuse that controlled all those functions. Owners manual was no help.

You should congratulate your self on having the ability to locate it, when I started reading your post , I said "an open ,not a short" but you got I right, I,ve read lots of posts on electrical problems, and electricity is like magic to most people, so congratulate yourself, and offer to help someone else, lol
