Then a few days later they reversed the order - with no explanation of what happened

I asked the local Chevy/GMC service manager today about the outcome. He said a recall has been issued, then something unclear about a heater circulation being involved.

In doing a little research apparently there was a problem with a run of the engine blocks, all of which are cast and induction hardened in Germany. There was a flaw in some of the blocks. The stop sale was issued and about 400 of new trucks that had been sold were purchased back by GM. The defective engines were identified and the problem is fixed. I cannot verify this information is accurate but it is what I found digging into it. Rumor has it that the trucks with the defective engine block will be destroyed. If this is true, GM has stepped up and done the right thing in my opinion.

Duramax

I had read on the internet that in 2023 that the Duramax diesel was being upgraded to produce more power than Ford, since they were out done in 22. I had contacted a dealer and of course I got nothing.

Has anyone heard anything?

Thank you

The HP & TQ was scheduled for 2023 along with a fresh model. That has all been pushed back to 2024 which will be a new model as well as 505HP & 1087 TQ...at least that's what the current rumor mill is saying

I have a 2023 3500 Duramax schedule to be built on 9-11 and a Camping trip planned for 10-22 so I hope I’ve got a truck to pull the toy hauler 🥴

kyfarmboy, don't hold your breath. Mine was scheduled for first week of July and got off the line the 24th. Many then have to go to a secondary site to have options completed like the spray in bedliner. It finally got on the train and has arrived in Montana but it's been 4 days now and they still haven't unloaded the train. Then I wait for the 200 mile truck trip and for the dealer to install the running boards and do his PDI and install the $971 floor matts I'm required to buy. You might make it but you might not. Oh, BTW they recommend 500 or so miles before towing.

Mine should be ready to ship when it rolls off the line, didn’t order anything that needs to be done by an out fitter and it will be shipped by truck from factory to dealer
( I retired car hauler, delivered from the factories for 30 yrs)
But anything can happen for sure [emoji1317][emoji1317][emoji1317]
Had a 2019 Ram 3500 flatbed 30k miles priced it for $6 k more than I gave for it. Gentleman bought it on the spot

I have the 2021 version of the truck you have coming. I was going to wait back in Jan 2021 and buy when the prices went down. Little did I know how difficult it was going to be to get these trucks and how much the prices would go up. You are going to really like that truck, enjoy!
