Recall on 2019 Duramax trucks
Has anyone had the recall for the DPF done? Looks like an ecm reprogram.

There was one on my 2018, don't know what they changed as it made no difference. I do know that if you don't get it done you wont be able to renew the plates in Ca. I have a Toyota that had a recall forthe fan on the heater and they would not renew until it was done.

Correct on both counts. I am scared of ecm reprogramming, and I know I need to get it done. There are two of them one for the DPF, the other is a documentation issue. Not worried about that, I am worried about the reprogram.

If you reside in Ca then you have no choice as they will not renew the registration. I had a Toyota Tacoma that had a recall for the blower motor for the heater and they wouldn't renew until it was fixed. Ridiculous.

Laj, where i live its working out quite well. Lower sales tax than if i still lived in Nevada, vehicle registration lower, slower pace of life, crime is pretty much non existent. And the state income tax wasn't anywhere near what i saved in vehicle registration and hardly a liberal in sight.

Recall 19 GMC Duramax
I completed the recall the other day which included reprogramming the brain (ECU) related to the diesel particulate regen recall. The process took about an hour. GMC also addressed another recall regarding the diesel engine heater cord (replacement). All I can say is, this is one heck of a truck and that diesel engine is awesome! Keep on Truckin!

to fix the block heater did they replace the cord, or just cut the end off so you couldn’t use it? Last time i checked new parts weren’t available yet.

GMC installed a revised engine coolant heater and replaced the cord.
