2013 2500 with 202k. Pulls 5th wheel to campground and takes me to work. Runs all day every day. Rotella T with Wix, change on DIC. Allison too. Burns nothing between changes. Great truck but sold it. Afraid of costly repairs overdue.
Bought 18 L5P @ 445 HP. Will run same oil and filters.
Oh yeah, not happy with new one at all.

I use diesel oil in my Duramax. I don't care which diesel oil, they're all the same, whichever is on sale.

What don't you like about the L5P? Looking at one and thinking of trading my 14 LML?

I traded in an '11 Dually for an '18 Dually and couldn't be happier, plus the extra Ponies help pulling heavy.

First 3000 miles I've experienced poor fuel mileage and performance ( vs LML ) Also had some technology glitches like flickering dash lights, uncooperative radio and trans felt like it didnt disengage at a stop.
I dont see this one giving me the same trouble free miles the LML did.
Note: watch out for trucks built before 2/18. Trans cooler line is rubbing on right frame horn. Not under warranty either. Remove grill and inspect. If problem the cut hose and zip tie section around hose. Reinspect annually.
Note: L5P emission equipment warranty is 50k. Not 100 k like drivetrain. You also have to add high idle to software and can add manual regen if you want. ( commercial/ fleet only )

Use mobile 1 filter and Chevron Delo 400 @ 5K mile intervals.
I also run the Delo in the 82 FJ40 land cruiser 2F engine.

Either Rotella T6 or Mobil 1 Delvac Syn. 5w40 with a Baldwin B1441 filter.
Changes between 6,000 and 7,000 miles with Blackstone Labs oil sampling.
77,000 trouble free miles.

I run diesel oil in my duramax. It doesn't seem to care the brand or if its synthetic or not.
