6.4 EGR Delete

Sorry if this get a bit long. I purchased a used 2008 Ford F-450 truck that has been "Bullet Proofed" along with the EGR deleted. The previous owner added a TCS turner. I started having a funny shift happening when slowing then speeding up. Seems like it was having trouble deciding which gear it needed and it through a code that indicated the transmission computer needed to be flashed. The dealer didn't want to work on to with the tune so I tried to reinstall the original program but couldn't due to a malfunction with the SCT Live wire display screen. So I returned to SCT for repair and just got it back. I was able to reinstall the stock program ok but now the truck won't start. After several hours working with SCT and check engine codes, they informed me the EGR delete was the reason for the engine not starting and could not provide additional help due the EGR delete. Besides reinstalling the EGR system, does anyone know of a work around?

Thanks,

Bob

Find a small independent shop, preferably a diesel specialist. Dealers won't/ can't work on deleted trucks.

Good advice. I was at my Chevy dealer, here in Oklahoma, and asked if they would work on my 2011 Duramax deleted and they indicated that would be no problem as most out of warranty Duramax's here in Oklahoma have been deleted. I asked the Ford dealer the same thing and they said NO. Go figure.

Did you try to put the tube back on it and start the truck? I would have a custom tune made for it rather than use the canned tunes.
