Auto door step

Just bought a 2019 Renegade Verona still at dealer waiting for it to warm up a bit up here,central Co. saw a picture of an coach parked next to a curb. Started to think about the auto door step I think they come out pretty close to ground does step stop when it hits something or just keep running until it pops a breaker not so good typin so hope this is understood first time.

The controller for the step monitors amperage motor is drawing to turn it, when step reaches full travel or hits something the amperage draw increases and controller shuts the motor off.
