Automated power cord system for Truck Conversion

I specifically directed my inquiry to the TC crowd because I believe that the size, position, and construction of the storage bays on these rigs poses a unique set of installation issues. Those of you whose rig is already equipped with (or those thinking about installing) an automatic retract or automatic deploy and retract power cable systems, please share some thoughts/photos.

I've talked to Glendinning about a system for my Renegade, but they suspect that only a reel systems (like a CRAA-50)will fit. I'd really prefer to have the reel-less system that uses a direct connection to the power cord and a tub to collect the cord (like a RVCM-7), instead of a unit that utilizes contacts on the reel to complete the connection.

Anybody able to make a reel-less system work within confines of a truck conversion chassis? I would especially like to see photos of that. Thanks

I retrofitted one of the tub versions in my Monaco that did not come with one from the factory.

1 and a purchased it used through vizone RV salvage which was a great value...about half price...

And it works much better I think than the hose reels for exactly the issues that you stated.

My doorheight was kind of short and the space I had to place it in was very narrow so the tubbed version worked better.

Vizone RV salvage measured the height before I purchased it.

actually had to tilt the unit to get it into the compartment and I use a through the floor 4in sewer hose spin cap opening for a cord reel to come out

If you need picks I could provide them

I do not have any pics on my phone right now

My door height is 26in tall...

The cord unit is 23in tall

My issue is there was a framing member just inside the door that was 20 in tall but it opened up past that back m to 26in...

I had the place the reel 12in back from the door and tilt it up into position...it actually worked out better this way as I have room for the cord reel to go through the floor , and a place for all may adapters....and I did not have to cut a cord acces port through the door which makes it a pain to enter the compartment when the cord is deployed
