Loud Noise in Reverse

My 2019 Freightliner M2 makes a very loud noise when the brakes are applied while backing up.

Sounds like someone stepped on a dinosaur's cajones.

What could it be?

Brakes wearing in and shifting in reverse. Same thing on our tanker at the fd. Similar chassis. Still worth a look at your rear brakes though. Make sure they are adjusted correctly.

What does the noise sound like and where do you think it's coming from, front, back ... ?

Is the noise constant when braking in reverse or only when you first step on the pedal?

Try releasing the brake completely and then re-engage.
I get a loud noise probably every 5th backup.. This always seems to relieve it

I get the same noise and like deputybubba stated fully releasing the brakes seems to make it go away.
