M2 vs Cascadia chassis?

My question is the Cascadia head and shoulders above the M2 with the same engine (DD13 for example)? I have a few hundred miles in M2s with ISL9 and DD13. Seemed ok, but I did notice the the cab floor between the driver and passenger seats got really warm. I also have some time with the Freightliner SD, it was like the M2 in my opinion.

Does the Cascadia have a better passenger seat? That is a biggie, my wife has back issues, and that will be a part of the decision. How much more does the Cascadia cost? I'm leaning towards a Renegade single axle classic or explorer.

I can't speak to the comparison, but you can easily change the seat/s to Recaro or other seat she finds comfortable.

Good point about swapping the seat out. It would be a bonus if what was there was workable.

If you are ordering new, just have the seat of your choice ordered from the factory. All seats are custom ordered for the coach as these are work truck chasis and upfitted according to the order. I had the Recaro seats put in mine as we purchased it used. Even long haul truckers order custom seats specific to their desires. I have talked to many who are also happy with Bose seats. It was explained to me that the Cascadia was designed as an OTR (over the road) chassis while the M2 was designed as an 'around town' chassis. More 'comfort', if you will, in the OTR chassis.

I'm sure that's in the OEM form and may not take any added creature comforts Renegade may add into account...

The Casscadia would give you more cab room and a flat floor as well as more storage bins. I like my M2 but the floor slant is a pain at times.

My only experience in an M2 is a couple of test drives in Dynamaxs. They seemed OK to me, but a bit small inside with a fair amount of engine noise.

In my brief OTR driving career of 16,000 in a Cascadia in a little over a month and a half, before my hip went out, I can tell you that they drive like a dream. Quiet, extremely spacious, excellent ride, and turn on a dime (at least the semi version does.) My only complaint was the doggone finger pinching hood latches.

Although I prefer the more "traditional" look of long nosed tractors, I'm pretty sure my next conversion, if there is a next one, would be on a Cascadia chassis.
