When we first started looking a Prevost we were afraid we wouldn't find one that was too glitzy. This is our second one.
And just for the record, that is not a mirror on the ceiling, it is polished stainless steel.

The Liberty is a nice conversion.

Not the look we are personally looking for but for that style, They are beautiful.

Does that ceiling come with Pink Champagne on ice?

From post # 64:
There is a recession coming. Large businesses are planning for it. I am in the current decade which is at the end of an overly long economic boom. It is time for the cycle to cycle. I do not know which experts say what as far as timing, but all of them know a recession is coming. the experts our company rely on anticipate 2022 - 2024. It could come sooner if something happens to trigger it.

Gifted foresight?

Personally, I think the economy is going to zoom as the Covid crisis starts to end. There is SO much pent up demand that I think we will have a good couple of years of expanded growth. Thats just my opinion.

Safe travels,
Mark

Hi all
I totally agree with Mark, but the quote I cited was from February, 2020 a month before the world came crashing down for many people.

The good doctor is still continuing his search for the best coach. With inventory at an all time low and prices at an all time high.....the search will continue.

The more I read about 1 to 2 year economic predictions the more conflicted I get.

Having said that it seems logical many recently purchased RVs will be hitting the market soon. I base this on two factors.

1) Gas & Diesel prices have increased about 40 to 50 cents since elections and most likely going higher.
2) Covid will fade away due to vaccine, herd immunity and / or we just get tired of being shut ins.

Higher fuel prices are painful but also drive more research for efficiency & alternatives.

Just my opinions and hope as I would like to trade up in a couple years.

We keep going back and forth between a Prevost Royale and a Monaco Signature (or beaver) and an extra $100,000 to $150,000 spending money. Seem like we could have a lot of fun with that much spending money even if we put half of it away to cover repairs to less well made Monaco systems. We are also toying with Bluebird. I have some questions maybe someone can answer.

Prevost supposedly rides and handles considerably better than otehr motorhomes. Is is significantly better than a monaco signature? Better than a bluebird? Is the difference with tens of thousands of dollars (to you, obviously everyone has their own vlaue system).

All will have the same generator, aquahot, engine, transmission, other than ride and handling are there any other major systems differences?

The Prevost slides are obviously better constructed. Are they relatively trouble free compared to other brands?

Has anyone had the Prevost delamination problem? What was the fix and what did it cost?

I don't have any direct experience with the Prevost but I've always dreamed of having one. But last weekend I spoke to an older couple that had 550,000 miles on their early 2000s Foretravel. He told me they had kicked tires on Prevosts many times over the years and for him, cost was no object. He said at the end of the day they were too big, too heavy and too cumbersome for the type of traveling they did.

If money is an object, that 100-150k is certainly tempting. But for me, the bigger issue would be resale. I don't see Prevosts selling very often (and they seem to sit on the market for a very long time.)

We own both an older BB and a Dynasty. Neither compare to a good Prevost conversion . The Prevost dies not use the same parts as the other 2. Usually has 2 huge inverters. Expensive residential fridge. Big generator. Sometimes huge 120 volt waterpumps. Everything is high end. Expensive to repair. If you look at a 96 and up BB wide body or an lxi you will find they are well built
Should have a series 60 Detroit. Gorgeous interiors and a bargain.

Having owned both a 2012 Monaco Dynasty and my current Marathon I can tell you there is no comparison. It’s like comparing a Sherman tank to a Lexus. I could do maybe 4-5 hours in the Monaco before wanting to quit for the day. I can drive 10 hours from Orlando to our place near Asheville in the Prevost without getting beat up. Remember these coaches are designed for commercial use so the driver needs to be able to comfortably go a full shift.

As for delamination, that is a concern in XL coaches (stainless steel sided) like mine. Make sure that repair has been done or have it inspected at a Prevost repair facility. The repair is upwards of $50k I’ve heard. Mine had the repair done before I bought it.
