New Truck Running Boards!

I just thought I would post that there are other alternatives to the tube style running boards put on most trucks.

When I bought my truck, a new 2015 Ram 3500 Laramie 4x4 SRW SB, it came with the chrome tube style running boards.
I found that they were mounted to high and too far underneath on the truck. This made it difficult to both get in and out of the truck as all you would get is a toe on it on entry and a heel on it on exit.

It was an accident just waiting to happen.

My previous truck, a Ford F-150 had power running boards that I really liked so I did some research and found that Amp Research makes power running boards that fit my new 2015 Ram 3500 Laramie 4x4 truck. I immediately ordered a new set for my truck.
Here's a link to their site.

Mobile Parts Lookup

I had them installed at my truck dealer through the service center.
They tuck right up out of the way and you don't even see them when retracted. When retracted, they sit up behind my front wheel well mud flaps and should stay free of mud, ice and snow.

The running boards deploy instantly on opening any door and are lit under front and rear door frames for night time.
They drop down about 9" from the body and sit proud of the frame so that you have a full 6" of step to get up into or down out of the truck.

My wife and I love these things and they are one of the best options I could have gotten for my truck!

Ya, not sure how I did that, but saw it after.

I started a new thread under tow vehicles.

Unfortunately yes. The snow arrived yesterday. I live near the top on the side of the hill in a valley and get more snow than the guys at ground zero.

The grass stays green under the snow.

I look on the bright side.....I don't have to mow my grass for about 3 months! LOL
