I have a request for PARTSEXPERT or anyone else for part nos. for my Workhorse GM 7.4 Vortec V8 L29 Engine Ser. No. 10FPH T004270163 (2000 Yr P32 Workhorse Chassis) in my 2001 Itasca Sunrise Model 30W:
1. Serpentine Belt
2. Top Center Idler

After a recent trip to Michigan I have been hearing a light squeaking noise which seems to be coming from the top idler pulley (not the right side tensioner) or the belt at that location. I plan on replacing the idler first and the belt if the noise does not stop (backside of belt is shiney but belt looks good. I have 44000 miles on the motorhome since new). If anyone has any suggestions as to the install procedure I would appreciate it since I have never installed a serpentine before. A race mechanic says to use a 3/8" ratchet to release the tensioner and to then pull the belt off of the altenator pulley first with a reverse procedure to install. I took the engine cover off inside the mtrhome and space is close at the front of the engine. I haven't crawled underneath all the way to look up, but it looks tight also. Any info for this model would be appreciated. I read most of the forum discussions about every couple of weeks and these forums are the best I have located so far.

2001 Itasca Sunrise 30W
7.4L Vortec V8 (8mpg towing w/ AC on)
2001 Honda CRV Toad w/Brakemaster Aux Brake
and tow bar (towed 40,000 miles)
Steersafe
DW and Dalmatian co-pilot
