2004 P32 brake caliper

Anybody know what part # to look for when trying to find replacement calipers and pads for the WH P32? I tried to enter Workhorse chassis on the NAPA site and the Auto Zone site and nothing came up for brakes.

Try here: RockAuto Parts Catalog

Why do you need calipers? Are they sticking or frozen or??

Replace pads, turn or replace rotors, flush system with new fluid - should be all it needs for regular maintenance.

EDIT: If the calipers really do have issues it's likely they can be rebuilt.

I had the front left front brake overheat on a short drive. I'm assuming it is caused by the caliper.

How hot did it get? Overheating wheel bearings can cook the grease and cause failure if they got very hot I would repack them just to be safe.

It could be. It could be sticky caliper piston. It could be sticky slide pins.

I didn't see that rock auto had caliper assemblies or even pistons and seals.

The P32 is pretty common though, should be easy to get parts for. They used them on a lot of commercial vans.

Did a quick search and this came up...caliper assemblies for $67:

If You can look at back side of the caliper, it has a casting number on it. You can research that number. Make sure you get an exact replacement.

caliper pistons ride on an oring (square ring) no metal to metal. Calipers don't wear out. Water may damage a piston but all in all a caliper is just a piece of metal.

You could call the parts dept at the GM dealer give him the VIN and ask what # are the pads. Then interchange the GM # to your choice of manufacturer. or give the info and Ill do all the leg work. parts is my thing.

^^This.

IMO, a guy buys calipers because he doesn't want to screw around trying to rebuild them. They're pretty simple, but everybody gets all up in arms about brakes.

The rubber brake hoses from the frame to the calipers have been known the come apart inside and acting like a check valve and not allowing the fluid to go back the master cylinder. Had that happen to a friend while we were on a trip. We pinched the line with vise grips and bled the caliper to release it till we could get off the highway. Just saying if you are going to change the caliper get new hoses.
