I have a 2003 W-22 workhorse on a Itasca SunCruiser. When I was looking 8 years ago. I had a friend advise me to get the workhorse over the Ford. I have driven a V-10 ford excursion for 10 years. The 8.1 496 HP is no comparison. The workhorse runs circles around the ford. More power, quieter and better gas mileage.

The 8.1L is equal to approximately 496 cubic inches of displacement. The version used by WCC make 340 HP. But otherwise you are correct about it out performing the V 10, especially when combined with an Allison Tranny.

Yes you are correct, I should have said 496 cubic inch. Still a great power plant!

Welcome to iRV2.com and the Workhorse forum.
That vin is a 2011 model year W-22 (GVWR = 22,000 lbs) with 19.5" tires, sold to Fleetwood, Decatur, IN. It had 2 recalls and both were completed.
If you want the "build sheet", send me an email. edgray1@gmail.com

I love my W-22, but one thing I would caution potential buyers about is that you will likely need to do some suspension upgrades if not already done by PO. Trac bars are a must imho. They're not horribly expensive-- especially if you do the work yourself (easy)-- but I wish I had known about this before I bought mine and I would have budgeted for it.
