While visiting a new 07 WCC equipped motorhome I happened to glance over to the dash and I saw that it was equipped with the new IP.

So here it is:

2007 WCC IP

The new IP looks a lot better in person. I will try to get some better shots when I go to the Louisville Show nest week but here's a preview. I apologize for the quality of these shots. I'll try to get some professional shots as soon as I can.

The new IP is a totally new design. It features 5 user selectable background colors in red, green, yellow, red and white.

The white background gauge features bold black lettering for excellent daytime viewing. The new Command Center display is also all new. Expanded in size by some almost 50% it is very easy to read. The mileage number that you are looking at are approximately 1" high. The check engine is about 1/2" high.

The pixel count that forms the characters has been increased and is therefore more dense making it immediately easier to read. I only wish that I had a PL or polarizing filter on my camera because the characters would even be darker. I got some glare off of the front plastic cover so the display appears a bit washed out.

As you can see WCC has responded to its customers by doing something about the previous generation command center. I'm sure that the new IP will be well received by owners of the 2007 Workhorse chassis.

Wide View of the 07 IP

The new 07 IP cluster will be available on all new W Series and the UFO. You may see some 07 coaches with the previous IP however that's the way the business works. The chassis and changes are most often behind the coach builder until November or so.

If you see one of these new IPs you will be as surprised as I was when I first had an opportunity to take the IP for a test run through its functions. The Mode(s) are somewhat different in that they provide additional functionality and I'll cover those changes as soon as I can sit down and take a few notes.

Does that mean these units are for down under since the gauge now goes counter-clockwise?

Now the caveat if you will is that you will need to have a VIN# with the 10th digit being a "6" in order for the IP to function properly.

In 2006 WCC started using the 6 speed Allison Transmission and that is one of the requirements to use the new IP. There may be others but I think it'll work. If I see a WCC engineer this week I'll ask him to make sure. (If I can remember)

Pardon my ignorance, but what's a "R-SERIES"?

Nice IP. Now if they can do something about the rest of the dash. I hope they will wrap some of the other functions around the driver better. I was looking at how the backup camera monitor seemed to be pointing more towards the center of the coach instead of more towards the driver on the 06's that I saw. I would think that this would make it difficult to see.
