2008 Winnebago Destination

Looking at a 2008 Winnebago gas pusher on a workhorse chassis. Currently have an 04 Adventurer on workhorse chassis and love it, any pro's or con's on the destination model ?

we have several UFO owners that frequent here, so I'm expecting you will get real world info from actual owners soon.

FWIW, other than the fan clutch / water pump shaft issue which surfaced shortly after the UFO was introduced, they have been pretty reliable, IMO. It is arguably the best riding / handling gasser ever, and without a doubt the quietest too. I wish I had found a coach my wife liked on the UFO.

Are you looking at the 37G or the 39W floor plan?

Just an FYI, but WBGO used the last of their UFO allotment to build an Adventurer LIMITED model, and the 37G I saw was beautiful, but without the "yacht-like" interior of the Destination / Latitude models.

I purchased a 2008 37G leftover in 2010 in Myrtle Beach. Had some minor issues and some recall work finished up but I love the coach, ride, interior design and performance. Currently I have 15K miles and counting.

Any problems with parts for the workhorse chassis ? Was the brake issue the recall issue ?

There have been some issues with availability of parts for the WABCO Parking brake assembly, but the UFO was NOT involved in the Bosch Brake recall fiasco because it uses Arvin-Meritor brakes, which are quite powerful.

CONGRATS on your UFO and WELCOME to the Workhorse forum

Which model did you get? You can add your coach-specific info as your "signature" in the user cp tab. That way others can see what you have and hopefully provide better feedback.

Again, WELCOME!

I purchased the 37G VIN 5B4MGF7G173422005 with the full body paint Granite graphics. Last trip out I had the back-up monitor go out, heading down I-95 the hydraulic control unit failed but the electronic control module was OK. While I had it in for the repairs, they performed two Workhorse campaigns completed, 60901-CS (Electric Cooling Fan Clutch and Water Pump) and 61101-C (Replacement of the Unused Fuel Tank Fill Inlet Cap).

Looking to buy a 2008 37G in excellent condition 17Kmi.Currently in '07 C class 30 foot triple slide 302hp V10 Ford., Ford Edge AWD TOAD.10.5MPG.Has the 8.1 got enough oomph given the larger wt. unit.? I just drive the speed limit .Any other issues or things you would improve on ? This is just for travelling , not wintering over . Any comment appreciated.

I tow a 2010 Honda CRV about 3600# and I can't tell when the toad is there and when it isn't handling wise and HP. I get about 6-7 towing and 7-8 with just the coach. I keep my speed at 55-60 always. So...I do not see you getting 10.5 with the Destination. I am not full time so I never looked into added options for better MPG.

I have the 39W and it has plenty of power for me. 56,000 miles in 7 years towing a Honda CRV. I average 6.5 to 7 MPG.

thks to both who answered my mileage question . My 10.5 is Imperial ,about 8.something US.So given the added size and weight , 7.0mpg is a reasonable number , , ,and as many have said , we don't buy these toys for mileage , ,but at some point there is a line in the sand. I am new to this forum and love all the user id's and furkid names. I do drive with an egg under my foot ,and am wary of higher speed heat affect on tires. thks to all
