2008 workhorse phantom alarm

I have a 2008 gas powered workhorse chassis. How can you find a fathom in dash alarm without any indicator light?

Are you driving in water and want to know how many fathoms deep it is.

Or....are you looking for a phantom alarm?

You're going to try different things that are typically connected to alarms. The first would be the leveling jacks, make sure they're all completely up. Maybe disconnect power to the jacks and see if the alarm goes.

The next could be a parking brake alarm.

You may need to get a code reader, plug it in and see if there is an engine code present. Auto parts stores like Auto Zone will plug in a reader for free.

Looks like you have a '08 Fleetwood, so maybe different than our '08 Winnebago 38J, but there doesn't seem to be any alarms that will go off without a light on our rig.

P brake, jack down, low fuel, Seat belts, headlights left on are a few things that will set off an alarm.

A turn signal left on for a long time can cause an alarm on some vehicles.

This beep scared and annoyed the crap out of me until I figured out where it was coming from. Powergear hydraulic low fluid level alarm. Here is a good video fro the AZ Expert…
The “phantom” reservoir is hiding under and behind the drivers seat area. Check your fluid level and add some. I chased my phantom beep away by adding fluid.

Phantom beep

I had what was probably the same phantom beep. Mine occurred mostly when accelerating. Turned out to be low fluid level in the hydraulic leveling system which incidently functioned fine. My pump and reservoir on my 2011 Bounder 34 (W-22) was under the entry steps above the coach batteries. Topped off the tank a few years ago and never heard it again. However, I do spray my shafts or rods on the hydraulic cylinders with silicone spray while extended fairly often which seems to help minimize fluid loss. From other folks I've kind of gotten the impression that the location of the reservoir determines under what conditions the beep occurs.
