Had mine serviced last Thursday. When the tech was coming to the customer lounge, he was walking and kind of shaking his head. Since I was the only one in there I could only wonder what they found. He came in and said that I was the first out of the many, many that they had already done that didn't need a thing. Whew! What a relief that was. He said there was probably at least 70% left on my pads and the rotors were in excellent shape. So, new calipers and a bill that was $0.00 and I was on my way. Just to mention, I have 29,500 miles on my chassis. Glad this chapter is over with and can only hope that everyone can join in and enjoy there rigs as they should be enjoyed and not have the brake issue on there mine all the time. Happy & Safe Motoring Everyone!!!!

I spoke with Larry at the Auto Clinic here in Myrtle Beach and he told me that he received his retail parts order and that he has enough parts to do 30 coaches complete. There are a number of members here at the 10th Anniversary Rally that are wanting to have the opportunity to get all new brake components so that's not going to be a problem.

I joined the ranks of those who have had the Caliper recall completed- .

I took "Spoonman's" advice for using -

Dave's Truck Repair, Inc
1023 Page Blvd
Springfield, MA
01104

PH- 413-734-8898

What a great facility, and the staff is superb!

Dave Proulx is the owner and Wayne Carrol is the Workhorse coordinator with us, the owners, and Workhorse (WH). Wayne has a long time parts relationship with GM and NASCAR. Wayne does the scheduling and Dave oversees the repair work. This is a great combo to start with- . Wayne told me they are the largest WH repair facility East of the Mississippi.

My rig has slightly more than 41,00 miles on it. It was an uneventful repair. Four new Caliper assemblies, rear rotors turned and two new rear ABS sensors. The rear sensors were replaced becaused of improper wire routing during the previous brake recall in NOV '05 (my coach is an '02 model) and signs of wire chaffing were present- not brake heat.

Dave has just purchased a $14k mini lathe to turn (true) rotors on the vehicle. It attaches to where the caliper normally mounts. It does a beautiful job. He has only one tech (of his 16) currently qualified to operate this new piece of equipment. No more removing the rotors, front or rear, to machine them.

He also has a lot of UPS and FEDEX WH work in his shop- It's a busy place. Wayne tells me they use a different brake system on their Diesel trucks.

I took my coach in at 7 am and I was done at 1:30, right after their lunch break. The longest time issue was the complete evacuation of all the existing fluid, refilling the system and then draining it, and then refilling again, and bleeding it. One real, through job- .

They also have their own alignment shop on the property.

I had to laugh at myself- We are enroute from 6 months in Maine to North Carolina. We are camping at the Westover AFB FamCamp in Chicopee, MA, about 5 miles from Dave's repair. I decided to remove the SS wheel covers, valve extensions and TST sensors myself and leave them at the
campground- that's a lot of work. I found out after I got to Dave's shop that he charges $100 to remove and install these parts. I looked like the "Clampets" going to town "undressed"-.

They covered all the steps, carpeting and seats with paper and plastic.

Oh- my total cost was "ZERO", "NOTHING". I gave the Tech a nice tip.

A great place to have your work done and a neat restaurant for breakfast and lunch is just a half a block away.

I give Dave's Truck Repair business a big 10+! ,

I hope everone has an equally good recall done on their rigs.

Good luck and happy, safe travels,

Max, you got 2 rotors turned w/o any charge for it? I'm still waiting my turn; but did not/cannot expect rotor work in Georgia to come free-of-charge.

62 Morgan,

I didn't expect it either. Maybe they were using my MH for "training purposes"? I got a through fluid flush also. Good people there- .

A couple from Cape Cod came to pick their rig up while I was there. She said all their club RV's are using Dave's also.
