Our 2006 Fleetwood Flair with the 8.1 and Allison runs like a champ. I probably go overboard on the maintenance, but it has paid off with zero issues while on the road.

2003 Allegro Bay 37DB. 8.1 496 VIN G DCWC OEM 12577436. Searching the web I find NAPA is the best price at approx $4100. I have a problem though. I find this engine on other sites and was startled to see "Not For Use In Motorhomes". If It Is The Original Engine So Why Is It Not Compatible? I have also removed the radiator. Workhorse # W8000540 but number on radiator is 52494127. I will purchase the engine tomorrow with a 4 to 6 week delivery.

A quick search only says that that is a plastic and aluminum radiator.

Check with ATK Remanufactured engines in Texas. The last I knew they were supplying NAPA.
Probably the only difference between a pick up engine and an RV engine would be the camshaft. The heavier MH needing higher torque at lower RPM's than a pick up. Some of these pickups did pull some large heavy loads though.
I would guess the 'W' number was Workhorse while the 8 digit number is GM.
