Then split it open with a large screwdriver. This will relieve the pressure on the threads and it should come off . Try tightening the fitting first . It sometimes works.

It may have been around a lot of wet salty roads or salty air?

Soak all the fittings in Kroil for a week. Make sure you have snug fitting wrenches.

Hahaha. Exactly. I just crawled under my coach again today to change the filter and sure enough the fittings were rusted pretty good. Way worse than anything else under the rig. My filter looks original so its 12 years old at least. I hosed everything down with Kroil and let them soak for a fe hours.

The inlet and outlet came apart fairly easily after letting things soak for a few hours. The bypass back to the tank is still very tight. I will grab some tubing wrenches and try again in a couple of days.

IMO a little heat could loosen things. There are no combustibles in the area so adding heat is not a big problem. I wouldn’t be worried about using a dremel tool to partially cut the fitting on the original bypass fitting. The sparks from the dremel aren’t hot enough to ignite the combustibles. Its not like there is fuel pouring out of the fittings all over the place.

Ive had to cut fuel lines like this apart before. Obviously not optimum but with an extinguisher and the DW there with the water hose its not that big of a deal.

Judging from that picture,"luck" would be the operative word here.

Yep. Thats what my adventurer fuel filter looks like. Maybe even worse. It’s soaking now for the next 2 weeks until i get back to it. I will give it another shot of kroil and let soak for a week. Then hit it one last time before i try to break it loose with tubing wrenches. The inlet and outlet on mine broke free no problem already. Just the bypass fitting back to the tank is all that is still stuck.
