Aftermarket Air ride suspension systems

Are aftermarket Air ride suspension systems worth the money, and how much do they cost? Are they DYI?, I have better than Moderate mechanical skills and can noodle out problems.
Are they that much better than the stock leaf spring systems? When measured against leaf springs not coaches with stock air suspension, as I would expect those to be naturally better.

Thanks,
Stewart

My Fords I had to do suspension work on them because they could not carry the Newmar box, to heavy, not problem with the Workhorse chassis.
First Newmar KS had leaf springs added all around and raised the box 3" all around.
Second Ford Newmar MA I myself put in a AIR-LIFT System all around with compressor and valve controls and dials at dash area.
You would not gain anything in my opinion installing a bag system on the Workhorse chassis save your money or spend it on new KONI's or track bar in rear.

Thank you for that.

the kelderman system is like $5k. But then you are still stuck with a WH gas chassis. I havent priced shopped diesel chassis... but my coach had that option available at a $60k premium.

Air suspension

I made the conversion on a Ford E450 chassis - - Class C. Would think the basic job would be very similar on a Class A.

Took me about two weeks or so - - But I'm older than cave walls.

The kit was from Reyco Granning. About three grand.

The BIG challenge is to do this job without having to move tanks or gensets. You gotta do a LOT of measuring to make sure it will fit.

Ride is MUCH better than the leaf springs.

I have a writeup I did on this project - - pictures and stuff.

You can contact me at oldusedbear11@charter.com. Ask for the suspension data sheet.
