Allison !000 Column Shifter On 2004 W-20

First of let me say that the recall Actia Instrument Cluster was done BEFORE I bought the MH. The MH is a 2004 Winnebago Adventure 33v.

Incident happened the other day when I was putting the MH away as I was backing I got a to close to one side and I attempted to shift from reverse to drive. Something didn't feel right so I looked at the cluster and the PRND2L was not right, so I shifted back to reverse (so I thought) anyway something didn't feel right so I shut the engine off and sat for a second. I restarted and all was normal.
I know there is no linkage like on my 55 Chevy had LoL........ I can only assume it's electronic of some kind..... Please Educate me

Have the transmission fluid and filter ever been changed?

Is the transmission fluid at the full mark when the engine is hot?

Who did the change and exactly what fluid was used?

Did they do a power flush?

It was done here in Modesto (Mello) as far as I can remember they used (Dextron)... Power flush I doubt it..... The cost was $214.00... (10 Quarts of HD389 I found the papers)

Well it looks like you're just gonna have to see how things go.

Thanks I hope to take her out in a few days. I’ll be sure and check all my levels when I return. I am hopeful it was just a hiccup.

LEE: HD389 ATF apparently is approved for your Allison, but it isn't a "good" as any brand of TES-295 ATF, and TES-389 requires more frequent change interval.

When you need to replace it, I suggest you have them use one of the TES295 fluids, which "should" be coming down in price now that Allison has introduced another "better" standard called TES-688 (I think).

Took MH out today and all is well. All the levels are where they should be. Also had a chance to “play” with Tru-Center and all is well.
