I keep running into this message on the diplay along with the annoying warning buzzer. When parking, I hold the brake down, shift into Park, and still holding the brake down, pull out the Park Brake knob. The next time the key is turned on, I most often have the "Auto Park Fail" message.

What am I doing wrong?

It does'nt sound like you are doing anything wrong. I usually don't pull the yellow button since putting it in the fake 'park' position does the same thing, or even just turning the key off, unless I'm using the jacks. It insists I pull the yellow knob for this.
Since yours is a '07 with the newer J-71 system, it appears that the same problematic symptoms are still with it.
Does any one know how to research if there are any other vehicles, besides WH, that use the the electronic/ hydraulic parking brake or 'autopark'?

To release the parking brake, push in the park brake switch pull-button and move the shift lever on the steering column from the park position or select "D", "N" or "R" on the push button shift control (optional AllisonTM transmission control). Note both situations must occur for the brake to release. Once the ECM receives the signals from the transmission and button contacts, the ECM closes the solenoid valve and closes the pump/motor relay allowing current to flow to the motor. The pump/motor then supplies fluid to the brake assembly. The brake assembly includes a friction disc clamped by a piston through force of an internal spring. The fluid pressure acts on the piston overcoming the spring tension that clamps the friction disc, releasing the brake. The pump motor will shut off when the transducer reads the fluid pressure of approximately 1400 psi. The solenoid valve holds pressure in the system while the brake is in a released state. The ECM monitors system pressure from the pressure transducer and energizes the pump motor when system pressure drops below approximately 1200 psi.

[i]To release the parking brake,

Hi Driver,

I'm not trying to release the brake, the error apparently is occuring when I apply it! I only see the error message when I turn the ignition on again! I simply hit the trip button on the display to get rid of the message!

When I am finally ready to release the brake, I hit the parking brake button and then pull the shift into drive, all with the foot on the brake, at which point you can hear the brake release noise, and everything is normal.

Why do I get the message at all???

Most likely you will have to go to a service center and get a Tech II scan to see if there is anything out of the ordinary.

Sorry I took so long to get back you with the response however here it is:

"He likely needs to have unit checked for adjustment."

There you go!

NORM: IF I read your original post correctly, you are "pulling" on the yellow switch to "set" the parking brake. This is not necessary, and MAY be the cause of the error message. On the W-24 with the J72 Auto-apply brake you only need to place the shift lever or touch pad (if equipped) into park. This will activate the brake and your coach should not move. Try this method to see if that eliminates the problem and thereby saves a trip to the ASC. ED

The Winnebago manual states "before extending slideouts, level the coach and set the Parking Brake".

I thought that is what I was doing.

I'm not going to mess with it now, but I believe the parking brake needs to be set before the HWH jacks will even respond!

NORM: all I was trying to say is that the act of putting your coach in PARK (with either the touch pad or the colume shifter) will accomplish "setting the brake". It is not necessary to touch the yellow button, except to push it in when you want to release the brake. ED
