Aux. Cooling Fans Inop

2006 W22 8.1. 140,000 miles.
We had a 6 year old heater hose blow while underway. Able to cut and reclamp to get on the way. 100 miles later the water pump started seeping. Replaced the pump and associated hoses.
Now, the coolings fans will not come on.... I switched out the relays and they're good and checked fuse with Ohmeter. . .We were able to get home by running a lead to one fan and keeping it on.
One fan is original and the other is 4 years old.
Is there a sensor somewhere that I am missing?

I think the electric fans only operate when the air conditioner is turned on and when the engine is getting hot. You might try turning on the AC to see if that turns on the fans.

They will most likely not run when you initially turn on the ac. The high pressure switch tells them when to turn on and it depends on the ambient temp as to how long that would take depending where you are.

Where is this high pressure switch on the 8.1?

It is in the high pressure line, most likely next to the cab AC box. It will have two wires goin to it. It will be on the smaller of the two lines. The low pressure switch will be in the same area.

It may never turn on if the AC charge is low. Too little refrigerant will not create enough pressure to activate it.
