Well I just received some bad news. I took my 05 Bounder (W22) to a Goodyear dealer to have him look at unusual tire wear on the front driver tire. I have 13K miles on it and thought the toe might need adjustment. Wrong! He showed me the problem. The double spring on the passenger side is bent, the yellow rubber "bumper" is resting on the frame, the driver side has about an inch between the yellow bumber and the frame. You can see the bend in the spring. Now I haven't hit anything, driven into huge pot holes, over curbs or anything that would bend that hunk of steel, I gotta believe it came that way from the factory.

I'm a full timer currently in Quartzsite and will have to go to a dealer in this area to get work done. I gotta believe the warranty will cover it.

Has anyone ever had springs go bad, bend or anything that would cause them to be replaced under warranty? I'm really not looking forward to doing battle with WH on this issue. Can anyone recommend a WH authorized dealer in the AZ/NM/SCA area? I know I can find one on the WH page but I'm looking for recommendations from anyone that has really dealt with them. The closest one to me now is in Lake Havasu and he'll be my first call.

Any help would be appreciated.

THANKS,

Tincup, sorry I missed the line in your post about having any knowledge of the dealers. I do not, I just got them from the Workhorse site.

My apologies.

Have you checked with Eric's RV on main st? I believe he handles Workhorse.

We are in Q also, but leaving tomorrow.

I had bad ware on the outside of my tires. I took it to Redlands Truck and they found it had a bad case of toe in and corrected it. Don't believe them when they say the spring is bent!!! Have it weighed. It is most likely heavier on the passenger side, which make it look like the spring is bent. Have it put on a lift and you will see that when the springs have no weight on them they will look the same on both sides.

Redlands Truck has a booth in Quartzite. Talk to them, talk is free. They are right down the road on I-10 in Redlands, CA near LA. Very easy to get to and they are honest!

Thanks for the advice FULLTIMERS, we re-distributed the weight on the right side and that cleared the trouble. I will have the toe checked by a different shop and see if the tire wear is caused by that or the heavy right side.

Thanks again.

I know it sounds different but after 3000+ alignments here on our Beeline laser alignment system we find about 40% of all single tire wear caused by a loose wheel bearing. Since it is such a simple item it usually is overlooked in the pre alignment inspection, most techs/shops want to get it on the rack and do the ol' set the toe take the dough routine. If you need additional info on "single tire, uneven ribben wear" please feel free to call me and I can can get Rusty Davis from Beeline to shed some light on the subject.

Thanks for responding and have a good weekend.

Keith

Oh yeah, Redlands Truck and RV found a loose wheel bearing on mine too. I forgot about that.

Glad to hear you don't have a bent spring.

Thanks for all the replys and good info guys. I will give Keith at Redlands a call and see about getting it checked out. If it is the loose wheel bearing, it's gotta be fixed soon

While doing my alignment, Redlands found a damp seal and fixed that also in addition to re-doing my Safe T Plus. As a Workhorse Service Center, there was no sweat with the warranty work also.
