I saw that!!! Crazy. They did have it at $56.00 but it shows "out of stock". Now it is that price. I am going to have the AutoElectrical tech at the shop where I am look at my MH today and see what he can do. I believe that he can do the fix correctly for me.

With a little knowledge one only needs the photos in the installation instructions to get a fair idea of how to build the kit. The hardest part is probably selecting type of size of wire, and knowing how long to cut it. Still that is easy enough to solve, this is not rocket science

Our electrical tech will be installing correctly the ignition wiring protector in my motorhome as soon as the new plug arrives. I intend to video with instruction this process. I will post same here.

Ignition Switch Install

UPDATE:
The new ignition Switch was installed correctly with a relay and wired in accordingly. I did video the process and will upload some "as soon as I learn how to do it correctly on youtube.

I will note that the wiring for the switch repair at UltraRV is costly and available but, I would recommend that if someone is going to attempt the repair themselves. The cost to do it correctly yourself is not only close the that cost but is much more labor costly and time. Our electrical tech did the job correctly but even then it took time.

I would also recommend that IF YOU DO NOT KNOW IF YOUR SWITCH IS BAD and it has never failed you MIGHT CONSIDER checking it and if there is evidence of an overload, change the switch and wiring before you are shut down on the road.

I replaced mine just a couple years ago in my P-30 chassis (1994). It is located on the backside lower steering column. The blue pin in your pic is placed there by the manufacture so it is oriented correctly when you install it. This way the switch is in the correct position when the shift lever is moved thru it's range.

The pin is removed once you are sure you've put the vehicle in 'Park' and removed the old one and compare it to the new one. Compare where the shift rod lever hole is on the old one to the new one.

What overloads them is when owner/s add accessory/s. Quite a lot stock runs thru this connector.

I replaced mine due to age and an assurance of knowing whether the switch was running overloaded. It wasn't (no burnt signs) I did notice the orange wire on mine was not connected to it's spade fully. Replaced the switch with a GM one. Roughly 1.5 hrs from start to finish.

I also highly recommend replacing the engine block to frame ground braid cable.

Not seeing anything with that part number on Google. You certain it's correct?

If the switch is showing signs of getting hot I first check to make sure all the connections are a tight fit on their spade/s. If so, then plan on replacing the switch before a trip.

Those darn switches fail at the worst possible time...in traffic, waiting for ferry etc...when I replaced mine it looked still new but a new GM one ensured me that it likely would be out of the equation any time soon.

Without installing the relay to relieve the load from the ignition switch , installing a new switch is just a temporary fix.
Chrysler used the Saginaw steering column for a number of years, with the same ignition switch and had similar failures due to the overloaded circuit , that required installing a relay as permanent repair.

Switch Replacement

The biggest problem with the switch failing is that IF IT FAILS and the wiring is cooked this WILL lock up the AutoPark Brake system and could leave you locked up in the middle of the freeway. So, Be very concerned and cautious about this. Make sure your switch is new and or not overloaded and burnt. Mine almost locked up on the freeway, it did lock the starter out. But, it did lock up at the gas pump. I did, after some time, get it started, that is when I started digging into what was going on and discovered the switch problem. So wait.
