Brake Recall Completion - Recall 51101-C
The recall was published during the 1st week of September and entering the 9th month of the campaign, I just want to get an informal count of iRV2 member that have had their recall done so far.
I expect that the percentages of completions will be quite high.

The local Workhorse Service Center here is doing a lot of them right now. When I drove by last week he had 6 in for the recall. I looked at 1 MH that had the worst brakes I have ever seen, all 4 rotors had deep scores and cracks clear through. It looked like the pads were down to the metal. I wish I had a camera with me.

Hi Mike,
Mine were done in Chattanooga, TN and was very happy with the Service department. Brakes are working just fine.

Mike (Driver),
On my annual migration North, To Maine, I stopped in to Dave's Truck Repair in Springfield, MA last Thursday. They did my brakes last October. I was curious if they had any problems with the new calipers yet. They just smiled and said "Not a one!"- .
Since they are a large Workhorse repair facility I am happy to pass this bit of good news along.
I would be curious as to why wouldn't someone want to have this recall done?
Cheers.

How long will it be before I can completely clear my mind of another possible brake failure ??
Since I had my brake failure in 06 I have been driving with the thought of another possible brake failure in the back of my mind for five years.
I'm happy to have mine completed but that thought still lingers

Max, I remember the posturing by a few owners here that unequivocally stated that they would not allow the service center to replace their calipers. I just wanted to see if that was still the case and why not as well. 4 calipers in the hand are worth more than 4 in the bush.
That's why I included it in the poll. Not that it matters so much because the campaign on that vehicle would still have to be accomplished and cleared.
At this point one might ask if the new "B" stamped calipers are available in the after market or is Workhorse getting the majority of those.
At the WCMC West Rally it was reported that the campaign was 50% complete in about 8 months time.

DriVer,
Had ours done at Redlands Truck and RV Center. In at 10:15 AM and out at 1:00 PM. Alan announced at the West Rally that more than 50% of the brake recall campaign 51101-C had been completed.

That could be a few different items from the master cylinder to the wheel speed sensors. A Tech II should be able to scan for those types of problems but intermittent is a tough thing to nail down.
