2003 workhorse
Any help would be super appreciated.
I am in Canada and have a 2004 38' Damon on the workhorse chassis. I know it needs some brake work and it would be great to know if the recall has been done or not. I hope you folks can help?
My vin is 5B4MP67G533375099. My email address is webevagabonds@gmail.com
Thank you

VIN check
Hello again,
I am now pursuing a different RV purchase from the one that I walked away from earlier this month.
Specifically, I'm now looking at a 2007 Winnebago Adventurer 37B on a W24 Workhorse chassis.
The VIN is 5B4MPA7G973420442
I am hoping in Ed's absence, someone else can check for me the recall status and provide a "build sheet" on this unit for me.
My email address is jbenge001@gmail.com
Thanks in advance for your help.
I'm learning a lot these days about the W24 and the J24 AAPB.
I also welcome anyone's thoughts and opinions about the expected AVERAGE life (in miles and/or years) for the 8.1L Vortec V8 engine and the Allison 2100 Series 6-speed electronic overdrive transmission.

The W24 is one of the most robustly built front engine gasoline powered RV chassis on the planet. The Allison transmission is a formidable transmission and is second to none. Your 2007 model year chassis will feature a 6 speed transmission.

There ARE OPEN RECALLS FOR THIS VEHICLE
Open Campaign/Customer Satisfaction Bulletin Information (Click Number for details)
50402-C: Actia Instrument Cluster (Campaign)
51101-C: Replacement of Bosch Service Brake Calipers (Campaign)
There is a recall on the instrument cluster. This is a simple reprogramming function that doesn't really affect the operation of the vehicle.
The Bosch Brake Caliper recall HAS NOT been accomplished on this vehicle. This is a critical recall and you need to get that done ASAP. The recall calls for the changing on the 4 caliper units ONLY plus miscellaneous items and fluid. This would be a good time to get a full brake job done so you can drive away with a 100% brand new braking system. It's not going to be cheap.
The recalls themselves (campaign) will be of "NO Charge" to you.

Thank you so much for the information. I really appreciate the support in this forum. What an amazing resource you folks provide!!
Do you know where in Canada I could take it for the recall? Or is there a phone number that I can call to get direction on this.
I am having a super hard time getting any information or support locally. It seems as if nobody knows anything about these things. I live in Ottawa now ans have called everyone I can think of including the biggest local GMC dealers as well as the largest local RV dealer....so far, nothing.
I suspected a rear caliper being seized and when I crawled under to look I can see the calipers are originals back there and the pads look to be severely disintegrated:( The fronts look fresh and I suspect they were serviced when the new front tires went on about 2 years ago.

Brake Recall VIN number check
The W24 chassis was never included in the Bosch brake recall ever. Had larger brakes not the same callipers.
If that Winnebago is in good shape and you like the floor plan I would seriously consider it. Nice floor plan, good chassis and 6 speed Allison.

VIN check for 2006 Winnebago Adventurer 35U
Hello all,
Update to last week's pursuit of used RV (2006 Winnebago Adventurer 37B with 93K miles)....major FAIL on "hot skin" test by independent 3rd party inspector w/ a 50A reading, so I'm moving on now with pursuit of another used RV.
After giving more thought and consideration about the potential problems with the J72 AAPB on the W24 chassis, I've since gotten a little more skittish about the 2008 and prior W24's and decided to find a floor plan that I like on the W22 chassis instead (Seems there's quite a bit of happy owners of the W22 chassis on this site/forum).
So, now I'm looking at a 2006 Winnebago Adventurer 35U on the W22 chassis (which my understanding does not have the J71/J72 feature and the problems associated with it, but the trade-off was having major brake recall work that had to be addressed).
VIN is 5B4MP67G463412258
Hoping someone (Mike?) can provide me with a build sheet and warranty repair work history for this RV.
RV broker said RV just came back after 2 months of repairs at Workhorse repair facility (and $3K worth of additional brake and other work paid by current owner beyond the brake recall work). I will ask for copy of repair work completed if I continue to pursue further, but I believe on surface for this to be true since I called and inquired about this same RV 2 months ago, and he told me then that he/they had discovered that brake recall work was not done yet and that RV was in the shop then for the recall work. Hence, 2 months later and $3K more out of pocket by the current owner.
So, I'm curious to see if the this current brake recall work shows up already in the warranty repair history.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Now I am seeing there may be a recall on the instrument cluster. Our digital cluster is un readable and the tachometer is pegged. Help! Can anyone check for me? Thanks

Please double check and provide ONLY the last 8 digits of your vin and I'll check it for you. The WCC system does not recognize the last eight you posted above.

The warranty records at WCC show the brake recall is open on the vin ending in 63412258. Not sure how long it takes these days to get those records updated after completion, but the recall requires the completing dealer to affix a label prominently displayed under the "hood" when it is done.

The campaign on the instrument cluster only involves a "flash" to make a minor adjustment in the programming. It does not involve replacing the cluster.
If you would like to repair your cluster (recommended) Ultra RV Products will rebuild your cluster which features a new, high visibility, blue background command center and all the items listed in the description including resolving the recall. Click on the link for more information …

DGINGER: I found the problem with your vin # (as posted). If you will check the "build sheet" I sent you back in June, you will see there was no recall for your chassis related to the cluster.
As DriVer posted, the recall was only to reflash the software, and would not have fixed your issues, even if it did apply to yours.
