Brake Recall VIN number check

A friend of mine just bought a used 2007 Itasca Sunrise 33V Class A Motorhome vin number 5B4MP67G373422913 he says that he has checked the Winnebago web site and he is sure that this RV was not part of the brake recall. I told him that I was not sure about that.

I know that there is some one on this forum that can check the vin number. Thanks for the help.

It was a part of the brake recall (All W20-22's were). It had the recall performed back in September of 2010.

The 51101-C (Bosch Brake Caliper Recall) was completed on this vehicle on 09/21/2010.

run vin

Sorry to bring up the old thread but i thought it would be better than starting a new one. I am thinking of buying an 03 Itasca on the W22. I has less than 20k miles so i suspect it may not have ahd the recalls done.
Can some one run the vin for me?
5B3MP67G323354735

thanks!

Ternzer _ Are you sure about the VIN? It doesn't come up in the NHSTA recall site. However, 5B4MP... shows up with the brake recall notice.

I wasn't able to confirm if your MH has had the recalls fixed. All I know is it has two recalls on the brakes: one for calipers and the other for the ABS sensors. I suggest trying CARFAX, or maybe someone else on this thread can get the info for you. You can research recalls at the following website:
www.nhsta.gov/recalls

Thanks.

That vin # is a 2002 W-22 with 19.5" wheels. BOTH of the brake recalls have been completed, and the replacement calipers were installed in Nov. 2011 under the most recent recall.
If you want the entire build sheet, send an email to edgray1@gmail.com so I can attach it to a reply.

Sorry Dave, but that info isn't correct. There has never been a recall for "the ABS sensors".

The reason you are seeing two recalls, is because the earliest models of the W series chassis had a recall to change the style of the slide pins used on the original calipers. The second recall replaced the entire caliper to eliminate the ultimate problem, which was related to the piston material and bore clearances and not the slide pins, as originally thought.

YES, the Bosch Brake recall was completed on that chassis in Feb. 2011 at 30,222 miles. If you want the build sheet for that chassis, send an email to edgray1@gmail.com so I can attach it to a reply.

OBTW, you have a 20,700 lb GVWR, so that makes it a W-20.

Your signature shows you have a 2006 WBGO.....is one your "spare"

Ok thanks Ed. That helps a lot. I will take a closer look at the gvwr data tag but i suspect you may be correct. W20 chassis.

The Itasca is our motorhome in Alaska. I purchased it in 2012 with about 31,000 miles on it. We use it all summer long and much of the winter. It's been a very good coach even when camping in extreme cold. We've camped in weather as cold as -30f before. The hyd system wasnt very happy but all in all the coach did well.

The 06 Adventurer is a coach we just bought to leave down in the states. We will come down during winter a few times per season and live in it. Planning to be in it part of the fall, Oct and Nove and then after the holidays much of Jan, Feb and March then head home to Alaska for the summer.

Is the 2000 P32 involved in the recall?
