Brand of Oil

I know 5-30 is reommended.......I'm in central CA and the Chevrolet dealer who use to be a workhorse shop too........uses 10-30......is this ok? Also, is there a reommended brand of oil to use? How bout oil filters, is one brand better then another? Thanks

10W-30 is good for your year round temps over 32 degrees F. Mobil 1 synthetic is the best. I use Napa Gold 1060 (1 qt.) filter. Original (Napa 7099) is only 1/2 quart. Napa is made by Wix. Total is 7 quarts of oil.

i use AMSOIL 5w-30 synthetic oil (the best) and napa 2 qt oil filter #1794. OEMY sells a delco 2 qt oil filter for less.
