Centering Steering wheel ?
I recently had our 1995 P32 front end aligned after replacing the coil springs and shocks. It drives fine, but the steering wheel is cocked off to the right which drives me nuts !! (I don't need help with going nuts) .. Is there an adjustment I can do without messing up the alignment to straighten the steering wheel ?? Thanks,
Monkey

Are you close to the people that did the alignment? If you are and a lot of time has not elapse since the alignment was performed I'd contact them as they should have taken care of that for you while doing the alignment.

As John stated you ought to make the folks that worked on it fix it and make it right. Moving and centering the wheel can be done at the tie rod ends, how ever much you turn one do turn the other the same till the wheel is lined up.

I'm not sure about Workhorse itself but a lot of GM products have a keyway type steering shaft spline which would prevent that R&R method.

Adjusting the tie rods is the correct way as it centers the entire steering system, not just the steering wheel.

The only way to center it is with the alignment. You can not remove the steering wheel and center it if thats what you where thinking. Hope this helps

Everybody is being very helpful,,, as always.. Thankyou !!! Think I'll try the tie rod ends making sure I do both sides equally.. It's just an extra hassle to use a whole morning taking it back to the shop. Working 50-60 hrs a week doesn't leave a lot of time for things....

Please, please don't do them yourself while taking it back may be a extra hassle it's nothing compared to the hassles you have when you find the front tires need repclement because of premature wear that you caused.

Ok John,,, I'll take your advice... It's a minor pain in the rear to put up with a crooked steering wheel, although it bugs me a lot... I'll call them and see if they will correct the problem, but I won't pay another $110 for another alignment... (at least not there)

Mine is off a little, but to the good side. Tires are wearing fine and it lets me rest my forearm on the arm rest just perfect.

Do you all remember the time when mechanics prided themselves with getting the job done right and the steering wheel would be part of the alignment.
