Many gauges are programmed to show an expected "normal" setting anytime the actual value falls in the "normal" range and not reflect the actual variation within that range. This is to avoid driver complaints and anxiety. I've done that twice myself, misreading gauges as a different function and freaking out until I realized the error.
I'M DONE WITH THIS, AND I DON'T CARE IF THE NEEDLE IS LYING TO ME, I'VE BEEN LIED TO BEFORE!

Did I miss it or has the cooling system not been checked with a hand held Laser Infrared Thermometer ?

By using the Infrared Thermostat and checking the radiator top and bottom tanks , the thermostat housing , the heater hoses where they enter the heater core and the inlet and outlet of the water pump it should show where the obstruction is located .

This is the best way to get a valid idea of what's causing the problem .

I have a HF Infrared Thermometer and it's the best $20 I've spent .

I use it to check coolant , manifolds ( a cool exhaust port quickly identifie's which cylinder is misbehaving )and wheel hubs .
