On our trip to San Antonio, the coach air did not blow cold air. I know most likely the freon is low, but I was hoping it might be as simple as a blown fuse, any thoughts?? We will return to Louisiana for Friday, don't want to burn on the way home. One other thing, trying to run the front roof air with the generator caused one of the breakers to trip.

Thanks Johnnie

If the air discharged into the cabin is also hot when you turn the control to "Vent" I would bet on the control valve, too.
Mine had that problem and adding a shut off valve between the engine and the Evans control valve solved the problem. In fact my air conditioner performed much better than when new with the shut off valve in place.

Is there a way to check this valve? Where is the valve?
Thanks Johnnie

Here is the control valve on my system.
Here is a photo of the A/C box and show the air intake. It draws hot engine air at low speeds. So, run MAX AIR to draw the air from inside the coach.
2)
To check the valve:
1) Turn the temp to COLD.
2) Start the engine and bring the engine up to temp.
3) Check the hose on the right side of the valve, it should be warm/hot.
4) Check the return hose, it should be cool or maybe a touch warm.

Mine sticks every once in a while. I turn the temp. to Hot and run the Hot water through the valve for a few minutes, then turn it off. Then turn the AC on to MAX cool and it seems to work fine. I have been doing this for 4 years now. It must clean the valve.

Back in Louisiana, tried running hot water through the system, did not produce any cold air, I guess it is time to start the elimination process?
I am guessing I must check the freon levels, what kind of freon does this 2004 Allegro use? Where are the air conditioner ports? Are they under the dog house?
Dw and I full time, so I must try and run down this problem my self.
The last trip we made before the May trip was the first of April, all seemed good then.
Thanks for the help.

I have had no luck finding the valve mentioned above?
Where can it be?

Johnnie: The hot water control valve is used to control the amount of heated water going to your heater core. It will be located in one of the two heater hoses "somewhere" between the engine and the heater core enclosure, which is usually mounted on the firewall-passenger side.
Unfortunately, these systems are designed such that your A/C evaporator core (which produces the cold) is contained in the same enclosure with the heater core and the blower fan pushes the air for your cabin vents thru BOTH heater and cooler cores. Therein lies the problem. IF even a tiny amount of heated water is getting by the valve, you will get luke warm air from your "A/C" ducts.
Before paying for an A/C service to investigate your potential loss of freon, we are suggesting you eliminate the potential effect of a faulty valve. IF running your A/C control on MAX causes the "doors" (as shown in OMEY'S picture) to close, then try using a clamp on the hose going into the enclosure. Put two pieces of flat wood ( a paint stirrer will work) on the hose so your clamp does not cut into the hose. This allows you to verify that NO hot water is getting thru to the heater core, and your A/C system "should" begin to blow cold after a while at high idle. If not, then you probably DO need freon, and any competant automotive A/C service can recharge your system. Good luck, hope all this helps. ED
