Coolant Recovery Tank Location?
My coolant recovery tank appears to be missing on this RV I recently purcahsed. I can't find a diagram anywhere of where it's supposed to be. I ordered a new one on Amazon, but I can't see where it's supposed to even be mounted.

If I am not mistaken it should be just on the left side of the grill area (looking into the engine bay) - that's where mine is located. I have a 2004 W22 and I assume yours would be in the same place. If I go back to the storage place tomorrow, I can take a pic of it for you.

Although it is out of stock at ultrarv this is a picture of what the bracket looks like. It should almost right next to the radiator filler neck. Here is the tank also. It shows on sale so they must have it.

I’m uploading pictures of my engine bay, you can see someone just draped the hose over to the right side and set it in the frame.
I ordered the new expansion tank, I don’t see the bracket in the engine bay though. I might have to zip tie it in there until it’s available on the link posted here. $100+ for a bracket seems extreme though, hopefully mine is in there just hidden well

I would just use a universal tank like this one and save a bunch of money. The size is pretty close to the oem tank. I think you just have to get the height approximately the same relative to the radiator cap.

On my W24 the tank sat in there by the tuba. (Intake horn). It appears yours has been removed, unless it is somewhere below the photo. Someone with a W22 should respond.

The hose I see hanging down is from the brake master cylinder, not the radiator.

It's right there on the left of the air intake pipe. Excuse the dirt - I just purchased this last weekend and will be cleaning her up shortly.

Mine looks just like Astroman77's motorhome. I have a 2003 W20. I suspect all front engine W series are the same for the mounting of the coolant recovery tank.
There is no magic about a coolant recovery tank. When I was racing my 1970 Plymouth I had to have a coolant recovery tank. The car did not come from the factory with one. I used zip ties to attach an empty plastic gear oil bottle to the side of the radiator and ran a hose into it through a hole I drilled in the cap.
I works well and passed NHRA tech inspection.
Fine a handy place to mount it and run the radiator pressure relief hose into the top of it.

My 2004 W24 chassis has a different mounting location for the tank. It is more in front of the air horn. I also thought all the front engine Workhorse would be the same but that's what happens when we assume something.
