Dash Air

I have a 2005 Winnebago 35A recently the dash air stopped working on returning from a trip. Seems that the compressor wont engage when I turn the air on,also i lost the 2 slower fan speeds. The compressor relay is good and the compressor works when I jump it out. High and low pressure switches are working and I just replaced the fan motor regulator which gave me back the slower fan speeds but the compressor still wont engage.
Any thoughts??

if the AC fluid is low the compressor will not kick on

my F53 ford had a temp. probe attached to the metal coolant line, not sure if high or low pressure, that shut the compressor down if the line started to freeze up. problem was the switch the probe controlled keep sticking. hope this helps and good luck

How do you know the pressures were good, did you have a gauge set on? What were the pressures?

When you "Jump" your compressor you are bypassing the low pressure switch which protects your AC compressor for lack of lubrication via the refrigerant.

I believe your static (compressor off) low pressure has to be at least 22lb. before the compressor clutch will engage.

I had a similar problem with my 2005 Itasca. It turned out to be two wires chafed off across the top of the radiator. You may have to trace the wire which supplies power to the compressor clutch back to it source and see it there is 12v + at that point. Then check the continuity of the wire.
