This is the same Rexhall Rexair that has already had over 140 warranty failures. It is once again in the shop because the rear slide comes out about 4 or 5 inches when it is parked in level storage with batteries and everything else turned off. they can't seem to figure out this problem yet but while it is there the Dash computer failed for the fifth time and they are installing a new one today. they also told me that these dash computers will have a 6 year warranty on them.
that is my latest information from Leale's RV in San Jose, CA.

Its tough to have all your problems hope you have been able to enjoy your coach some what.
I would think they would be looking for someother reason for all the problems with your IP, 6 is much. I may put a jinks on myself but I have the same IP on my 02 chassis without all the problems everyone has been having. After reading all posts on the IP's failing I have checked plugs and wiring + &- to IP and so far even with recall its A-OK. Most problems were about 03-04 years but we still have people as yourself where they can't get it right for you. "007"

The dash computer was ok when I took delivery but started going bad soon after. It was replaced and was working fine I thought when I got a recall notice. It was replaced again and once again I thought it was working fine for nearly a year when it was recalled again. Another unit was installed and it wouldn't flash right so another was ordered and installed and it was working fine until the batteries were run down from once again trying to salvage the bedroom slide that has been worked on twice by the factory, and by two dealers and still creeps out 4 to 5 inches, and is fit in a hole that is stil 3/8 inch out of square. It came 7/8 inch out of square. the seals turn inside out when extending the slideout. It leaks.
I am told the computer is supposed to have a low voltage buffer to keep it from scrambling the printout when the batterys are low. That doesn't seem to be working. This time it happened while it was at the workhorse shop.
Am I happy with this unit? Of course not. We have been able to use it for less then 3000 miles in 2 years. The sequence is round trip to the campground and then round trip to the repair shops. Campground trips average 2 days. shop trips average 2 months.
I cannot reccomend that anyone buy this model of Rexhall new or used. It is also interesting to note that Rexhall will no longer warrant these problems or even attempt to fix them and in fact will not return phone calls to the warranty shop. NICE FOLKS
Yes I know about the Lemon Laws and I have talked to the major law firm in California that handles these cases, spent months documenting all the warranty failures to them with pictures of the coach whend the factory driver wrecked the driver side while transporting it to the factory for bedroom slide repairs. The attorney states that I have a good case but the problem is that they don't think Rexhall will survive in busines long enought to collect from them. Their stock was at 43 cents a share. It takes a year to get a trial date and another year for appeal and would they still be in business two years later. The Law firm votes no and suggested that I just get it fixed and traded it in. More NICE FOLKS

Your attorney may be right. You could file a suit, win and get a judgement against the company. The company then goes out of business and you can't collect. You will likely have spent a large sum of money on the attorney and be left holding he bag. Maybe they are right, get it fixed and trade for something nicer, and hopefully with far fewer problems.

BEBOP--
Man--how I hate to hear of your problems.
Like 007, we feel your pain.
Like a delaminated sidewall, your issues are
ones that you can't fix, and obviously the
RV Repair Shop(s) can't, either. Our little
piddley things wrong with our old Newmar are
nothing compared to your Rexall. Like others
have advised, you should trade it off......
but, be sure to trade it for a rig you can
sell if need be. Your experience would likely
sour us on RVing forever...

Steady Eddie,
Thank you for your reply and understanding.
There is another aspect here that should be noted.
DEPRECIATION OF PRODUCTS FROM A COMPANY GOING OUT OF BUSINESS, OR HAVING THAT POSSIBILITY AS PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE.
There are no longer any dealers distributing Rexhall Motorhomes. Very few are willing to try to do repairs on them either.
If the public thinks a company may go out of business then the depreciation on their products intensifys as this info is distributed throughout the informational channels.
The depreciation on my motorhome has more then doubled making it very difficult to try to trade in. DEALERS DON'T WANT A REXHALL TRADEIN, unless they can steal it and know they can get out of it again.
I can't blame them for that.
This once again narrows my alternatives
I hope that none of you ever get caught in this trap I find my self in, especially at my age of 75, retired and not really rolling in money.
STAY AWARE. RESEARCH BEFORE YOU INVEST.

So sorry to hear about all these problems just because you wanted a nice new MH for your retirement years.
Seems like most of these MH and chassis mfgrs. are like predators laughing at everyone they sell. Even when they pay for warranty problems, sometimes it seems like it just 'ain't worth the grief and aggravation' of takingit in and fighting and waiting to get it fixed. Then when you get it back, often you find it ai'nt fixed or something else is broke.
I'm only 57 so I'll probably be wise enough to not have a MH when I'm your age, if I can get rid of this one.

BEBOP,
I'm commisserating too. I too have a Rexhall tho mine is an Aerbus. Perhaps I can ease your fears.
We got ours last fall. A new 04 w/252mi. never registered. Took a trip to Mo. and before we got back the sat dish died as did the fireplace, house batteries, etc. Had the wipers that only worked on slow intermittent fixed in KC on WH. They also fixed dash a/c that only blew hot. Needless to say when we got home I went ballistic on Rexhall, everyone in sight. Gradually calmed down and started to work w/ Fransesco the service mgr. Too true they aren't good at returning calls but who is anymore. They got rig in in a reasonable time but repairs were taking too long for me. They explained time was due to getting replacements. To their credit, I must say, they didn't just repair failures, they replaced w/new. And most of the bad stuff wasn't of their mfg. and as a sweetener they installed for free the wind speed controller for the auto retract awning. The things that were wrong from their coach build were corrected and have been good since. My slides were draging but get fixed. Our second short trip to Pismo Beach had the toilet leaking water at the floor line. Again they replaced w/new and while wife & I did some shopping and took rv home same day. Fransesco's pronunciation could use some help but given a little leeway is really a pretty good guy. Our salesman, who has always been straight with us finally told me the co. had a coach building shop full of idiots and Rex had to fire them all inc foreman in 04. All seems to be ok now and I don't see them going out of business
The salesman also told me that Rexhall had franchisees but cancelled them all and I think is planning to pull out of stock market to be totally self owned. I got to IRV2 from a posting to a querie I had at RV.net ( very glad for that). While I was still mainly doing my rv learning at that site, another member put up a link to an RV mag article about the new Rexhall RVan. Rave review. I stop in from time to time to talk w/salesman and I've been inside one. They're going to sell really well. We're fairly near and he knows Rexhall and general rv better than anyone else I know. Face to face anyway.
No, I don't think they're going under. Consider also, we have Wh warranty as well as Allison, tires, furnace, etc, etc and I wouldn't be without an extended warranty. So I feel your fears are somewhat unfounded. Am curious about the rest of 140 failures. Were they coach builder or other suppliers? On the mass factory firing, I can believe it. While few people are good for their word any more, I've never experienced so many totally useless gits anywhere else is the whole country as there are here in the desert. We're moving state soon.

HI Eandy,
Sorry to hear that you also have a piece of Rexhall junk and a lot of the same similiar problems.
I think a lot of your information is outdated and some just in error.
Rexhall was kicked out of the stockmarket some time ago as in Delisted by the Nasdaq for several things but mostly being undercaptilized, as in BROKE.
Their dealers quit them one by one and two by two because of all the warranty problems and not getting paid until months after the warranty work was done. Thing got to a point where they could no longer sell that brand.
The value of my coach has dropped from 126,000.00 to 79,000.00 in two years of ownership as of May 31.
I was advised by my repair shop that will also no longer do any rexhall warranty work because of getting skinned on their labor rate and then getting paid several months after the work is done that their service manager, their warranty manager and several other key people were fired a few months ago. This didn't seem to help any either.
Rexhall stock only trades in the pink sheets now person to person and is currently priced at 43 cents a share. they are very shakey financially and have not filed a financial statement for over 2 years now.
I am unable to find an attorney in california that is willing to take on the long term process of filing this case under the lemon law even though they state it is a very winable hands down case but none of us are likely to ever get paid even after spending years winning the case.
So there you have it my friend. Good luck with your Rexhall. I have concluded there is no good luck left for me so I will pursue other options.

BEBOP, Glad to hear back from you. It could be I got my repairs done because I'm so close to Lancaster. Only a guess. I'm going to believe you know the facts about the stock market thing but I'm not concerned myself even considering resale value of my rv. It's not for sale and I am very happy with it. I've made several large mods to it and am getting the Ultrapower done this week. I expect to keep it till it's worn out. It gets between 8.5 and 10 mpg now with only 4600 mi. and getting better. Really glad I didn't buy a diesel.
Still curious about your computer failure. You are talking about the LED display aren't you? If so have all of the failed ones been the same color? And are your slides the chain operated hydrolic powered type?

HI eandy,
I guess if you keep it long enough then you can amortize it. I am 75 now so I couldn't live long enought to amortize it
Yes I am talking about the LED display in the dash. No the last one had a reddish color and this last replacement I have not yet seen.
The slides are all hydraulic and part of the HWH leveling system. the slides are extended and retracted by hydraulic cylinders powered by the HWH hydraulic pump. Hwh as agreed to warranty this problem as they give a two year warranty and mine doesn't expire until Tuesday. I finally got a break
best to you and yours,
Bill
