In Nov I thought I had a leaking right rear shock, was told it was a plugged vent on the differential. They cleaned & replaced. All was well till our trip last week to Beatty, NV, near Death Valley. Got to the park & unhooked the toad and something didn't smell good. I thought maybe I didn't set up the Suzuki correct (this was our first trip towing it). But it was the vent again, only worse this time. The back of the MH was covered with oil film, along with the front of the toad.
Tech called WH & was told the bottom of the vent was too close to the ring gear, allowing gear oil to splash up. They re-located the vent up to the frame by adding a fitting and rubber hose. Has anyone had this problem?

No, but I would get their assurance that your rear end lube is now at the proper level.

I think I just had a similar problem. Following our arrival home there was gear oil dripping on the ground from the right rear underside, including the jacks. It was all over the underside of the coach, and on the front of our Jeep as well. It obvoiusly came from the vent plug on the top of the differential.
Coach is in to have the problem checked, but preliminary indications are that all is fine. But I'm sure I lost quite a bit of oil, and the drive that day was not all that hard, so it doesn't make sense.

You may want to double check where the oil is leaking from -- I thought I had the same problem but it turned out to be the wheel seals...it was only because we had it parked on a concrete pad for a few weeks that I was able to determine where it was leaking out of -- when I examined everything closely I did see that the vent tube had some oil come out.
Ended up (under Workhorse warranty) having both rear seals and brake pads replaced.
